Pineview -Ottawa-Gatineau, Ontario neighbourhoods and nearby communities

Pineview is bounded by Highway 417 on the north, Innes Road on the south, Blair Road on the east, and Cyrville Road to the west. Adjacent neighbourhoods are family-friendly Beacon Hill and cozy Blackburn Hamlet. The neighbourhood was the home of Theformer City of Gloucester City Hall

Prior to the neighbourhood's amalgamation to the City of Ottawa, Pineview was part of the city of Gloucester and has a population of about 6,000 resident, of whom 45% are unilingual English only, 3% unilingual French, and 51% are bilingual.


Pineview is a relatively new neighbourhood, with most (57%) homes built between 1961 and 1970, 23% built 1971 -1980, 8% between 1946 and 1960, while 5% were constructed between 1986 and 1990.

By 2006, Pineview had 1,939 dwellings; 32% of these were single detached, 1.8% are semi-detached, 56% are row houses, 3.1% are apartment duplexes, less than 1% were apartments with more than 5 stories, and 7.6% were apartments less than 5 stories. 30% of residents rented, while 69% owned their homes.


The neighbourhood has three catholic elementary schools, and is served by nearby Lester B Pearson Catholic High Schools.


The community is close to Gloucester Centre and Shoppers City East, the north as well as to St Laurent Shopping Centre. The are also a number of big box stores like The Brick, Mark's Warehouse, Petsmart, United Furniture Warehouse, Costco and Home Depot located on Innes Road between Blair Road and Highway 417.


The community has lots of parks, is adjacent to the Pineview Golf Club and the Green's Creek Conservation Area, and is a short drive from the National Museum for Science & Technology and the Mer Blue conservation zone
