On-Street Parking
On-street parking is limited downtown and elsewhere. Look for meters or signs allowing it (some will limit you to 3 hours bdetween 7 am and 7 pm).
Meters and time limits tend to be strictly enforced. Lots and garages around the
city charge $2 to $5 per hour \or $7 to $12 per day. There are a number of public
garages around the downtown core and Byward area. Byward has a lot of parking stalls
(just not enough for Saturday morning market!). Other parking restrictions.
Overnight Winter Parking Prohibition
You cannot park a vehicle on a highway or road between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
from November 15 to April 1, though in Ottawa this law is only enforced when
Environment Canada forecasts an accumulation
of seven (7 cm) centimetres or more of snow. However, they should be aware
that crews might be removing snow from recent storms, although signs are
always placed in the snow banks several hours ahead to inform the public.
Tour Bus Parking Areas
Ottawa has initiated special tour bus parking zones from May through October,
to relieve congestion during the peak summer tourist season. There are two
designated tour bus parking lots: one at Lebreton Flats (between Duke & Fleet,
east of Booth Street, which offers free parking) and at Slater & Laurier (which offers
parking only between the hours of 6 pm and 7 am).There are two designated 10 minute
pick-up and drop-off spots, in the Byward Market, one on York between Sussex and Byward,
and on George between William and Dalhousie. The city also has provided a number of on-street
metered tour bus parking stalls, at a cost of $1 for 20 minutes, mostly in the Rideau/Byward are,
but some on Sparks street west of Bay, and others on Somerset west of Cambridge.
Tour bus operators should also be aware that idling for more than 5 minutes will
violate the city's noise by-law.

Parking tickets should be paid within 15 days of their issue date. The due
date may be included on the ticket. There are several methods of payment:

Pay your Parking Ticket Online
If you disagree with the parking ticket, you may take the matter up with the
City of Ottawa. You will find appeal instructions on your ticket.
