Morgan's Grant / South March / Saddlebrook neighbourhoods of Ottawa-Gatineau
Morgan's Grant is a new community west of March Rd between Old Carp Rd and Terry Fox Drive, adjacent to the Kanata North Business Park. South March is a new community east of March Rd between Old Carp Rd and Terry Fox Drive, adjacent to the Kanata North Business Park, the Connaught Rifle Range, and the Shirley's Bay Crown Game Reserve. Saddlebrook Estates is a prestigious rural estate community, located ten minutes northwest of Kanata, known for its large lots among beautifully wooded rolling hills.
Development of the area began in the late 1980s with homes around the main streets of Morgan's Grant Way, Allenby Road, Ipswich Terrace, Halton Terrace and Flamborough Way, leading up to Terry Fox Drive and Monk Environmental Park. Starting in the mid to late 1990s, expansion began by Minto Developments to the north and has since reached up to Old Carp Road.
These neighbourhoods are new, and still expanding. Saddlebrook Estates features large executive homes, while Morgan's Grant and South March are more mid-priced homes
These areas are new, so children will have to attend schools in other Kanata neighbourhoods. Morgan's Grand has a Montessori school.
There are some retail shops and restaurants in the adjacent business park, but the Centrum Shopping Centre and Kanata Town Centre malls are a short drive away.
These communities have lots of parkland (the largest being the Trillium Woods Park) and ready access to recreational pathways, connecting into other parts of Kanata and the Ottawa River. Swimming pools and ice arenas are in the nearby neighbourhood of Beaverbrook. These neighbourhoods are a short drive from the NCC Equestrian Park.
